The above classification is provided for all breeds (and varieties.) Additional divisions such as age, color or weight, are included in the breed list and must be indicated on the entry. The Breeds and Variety of Breeds that indicate Puppy Classes are divided, the division will be 6 months and under 9 months - 9 months & under 12 months - Both sexes.



CLASSIFICATION

(NON-REGULAR CONFIRMATION CLASSES, INVOLVING MULTIPLE ENTRIES)As the judge's decision in the following classes is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won in these classes.

BRACE CLASS - TO BE OFFERED ONLY ON SATURDAY, MAY 24, 2003: Two dogs of the same breed or variety with identical ownership. Both dogs must be entered in another class.

NON-REGULAR OBEDIENCE CLASSES

TEAM CLASS (Monday only) - For four dogs of the same breed, irrespective of sex. List names of all Team members on entry form. An alternate dog may be entered but the same four dogs must complete all exercises. Show Team Class as "Obed. Team" on the entry form. Team dogs do NOT have to be entered in another obedience class.

BRACE CLASS (Saturday only) - For two dogs of the same breed irrespective of sex. Show Brace Class as "Obed. Brace" on the entry form. Brace dogs do NOT have to be entered in another obedience class.

VETERAN GROUP AND BEST IN SHOW SHOWCASE COMPETITION

The Tanana Valley Kennel Club, Inc. will hold a Veteran Group and Best Veteran in Show Showcase Competition on Sunday, May 25, 2003 in conjunction with our regular all-breed show competition.

Entry fee is $10.00.

This AKC approved special event allows Veterans in all AKC approved breeds to compete for Best Veteran in Group and Best Veteran in Show.

There will be no Breed level Veteran Classes. Altered dogs and bitches are eligible to compete. Entries will be divided by Group level only. All dogs entered will be assigned to their respective Veteran Group and will enter the Group ring together.

Judging will be for placement as first, second, third, and fourth in each group.

The Group Winners will compete for Best Veteran in Show, immediately before regular Best in Show competition.

All normal judging procedures apply. Judges are subject to change. Information on the order of judging will be included in the Judging Program.



BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR (BBE) CLASS ELIGIBILITY





JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION

NOVICE JUNIOR CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 10 and under 14 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have not won three first places in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.

NOVICE SENIOR CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 14 and under 18 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have not won three first places in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.

OPEN JUNIOR CLASS - For boys and Girls at least 10 and under 14 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have won three first places in a Novice Junior Showmanship Class at a licensed or member show, with competition present.

OPEN SENIOR CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 14 and under 18 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have won three first places in a Novice Junior Showmanship Class at a licensed or member show, with competition present.

NOTICE: JUNIOR HANDLERS must include their JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry.

You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Event Records Department, (919) 816-3814.

BE SURE ALL INFORMATION for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on front and back of entry form.

From the Parks Highway: Exit Geist Rd., East to University Ave., turn left to College Rd., turn right on College, approximately 1 ½ miles to the fairgrounds.

From the Richardson Highway: North on Steese Highway to College Road, turn left approximately 2 miles to the fairgrounds.

From the Airport: East on Airport Way to University Avenue, turn left to College Rd., turn right on College, approximately 1 ½ miles to the fairgrounds.



INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENTERING DOGS

Turn to the Classification and select the class or classes for which your dog is eligible, then fill in the entry blank completely.

Please typewrite or print clearly on entry form as the Club assumes no liability for wrong information.

Puppies under the age of six months on the date of the show cannot be entered.

Entry fee will not be refunded in the event of errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date, nor in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by the Veterinarian or Judge or barred from competition by the Show Committee or because it has been entered incorrectly. If because of riots, civil disturbances, weather or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry fees will be made.

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS: A Recording Fee of 50 cents will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial or Tracking Test. This Recording Fee is to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Recording Fee is to be collected on the first entry only. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2).

Closing date for entries is 12:00 NOON (CST), WEDNESDAY, APRIL 30, 2003, after which time entries cannot be accepted, canceled, or changed, "except as provided for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the Dog Show Rules.

Acknowledgment of entries will be made as soon as possible after entries have closed. Should such acknowledgment not be received by the Exhibitor within a reasonable time, please notify the Superintendent at the above address or telephone (601) 583-1110.

MAKE ALL CHECKS AND MONEY ORDERS payable to Rogers Dog Shows. MAKE ALL CANADIAN checks and money orders payable in U. S. funds.



THE TANANA VALLEY KENNEL CLUB, INC. may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog from the show premises on account of disease, viciousness or other cause, and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the club or any official thereof for such action.

ONLY DOGS THAT ARE ELIGIBLE to be shown under The American Kennel Club rules shall be allowed within the show precincts.

NO ENTRY shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance.

To be acceptable an entry must be submitted with required entry fee on an official American Kennel Club entry form.

No dogs wrongly entered in a class may be transferred to another class, "except as provided for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the Dog Show Rules.

RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Superintendent will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors require a future CASH ONLY basis.

No Entry Fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, extreme and/or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.

OWNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ERRORS in entry forms, and for entering the same dog twice, regardless of who may make such errors or duplicate entries. There will be no refund for duplicate entries.



ATTENTION EXHIBITORS

The Show Site will be available to exhibitors at 7:00 am on SATURDAY, MAY 24, 2003. Dogs must be removed from the show site immediately following Best In Show judging on MONDAY, 26, 2003.

Exhibitors are reminded that these are three separate shows and trials. Exhibitors must check in each day.

Unentered dogs are not allowed within the show building or grooming building.

Exhibitors and handlers will be held responsible for clean conditions in and around their grooming area, parking area, and hotel rooms.

Exhibitors will be responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Special exercise areas will be provided.

The welfare of an exhibitor's child is assumed to be the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children on the days of the shows OR THE EXHIBITOR WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE SHOW PREMISES.

The show committee will use due care & diligence for the welfare of dogs & exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of an accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these shows.

All rights to televise, videotape, advertise, photograph, promote or otherwise exploit these events are vested in the Club or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons & animals on the show grounds at any time while the shows are in progress do, by attending these shows or participating therein, hereby grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape or otherwise use their likeness & voice in any manner without further release or consent.

The Tanana Valley Kennel Club, Inc. is not responsible for the actions or products of the commercial vendors at these shows.

DOGS LEFT UNATTENDED in inclement weather & deemed in danger by the Show Committee will be turned over to Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Control for proper care.

No smoking will be allowed or tolerated in any building on the show site. Offenders of the rule shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $50.00, and in the event of continued abuse, shall be asked to leave the show premises.

NO GROOMING OR EXERCISE PENS ARE ALLOWED IN THE SHOW BUILDING. CRATES ARE ONLY ALLOWED IN THE SHOW BUILDING DURING SHOWING OF YOUR BREED & MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY AFTER. CRATE SPACE IS LIMITED TO THE AREAS MARKED, AND ARE NOT ALLOWED OUTSIDE THE DESIGNATED CRATING AREA. CRATES LEFT AFTER BREED JUDGING WILL BE REMOVED BY THE SHOW COMMITTEE, AND WILL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF TANANA VALLEY KENNEL CLUB.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging.

Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the Club nor its Superintendents will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.

The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

The show giving Club, the Show Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc. assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assume no responsibility for injury to children.

Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing or by telegram prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.

An administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations or changes made prior to closing of entries.

SHOW GROUNDS RULES

The Tanana Valley Kennel Club, Inc. reserves the right to deny camping approval based on previous complaints against individuals.

Camping area will have security at the gate and on the premises. A camping pass must be shown to gain admittance to the back area of the show grounds.

NO PARKING IS ALLOWED BESIDE THE SHOW BUILDING OR GROOMING BUILDING at any time. Violators will be immediately towed at owner's expense without warning.

CLEAN UP after yourself and your dogs immediately.

QUIET HOURS are 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. Do not run generators or allow dogs to bark during these hours.

Campers should bring a long (100') extension cord as some spots have a long reach to the power poles.

FIRE LANES will be strictly enforced. VEHICLES NOT IN COMPLIANCE WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TOWED AT OWNER'S EXPENSE.

Bikes, skateboards, etc. ARE NOT allowed on the hard pad outside the show building or grooming building during show hours. Parents must control their children.

PLEASE use the dumpsters provided by the fairgrounds staff.

Exhibitors are responsible for the conduct of themselves, their children, and their dogs at all times.

SPEED LIMIT ON THE SHOW GROUNDS IS 5 MPH AND WILL BE ENFORCED.

Failure to comply with the above listed rules can lead to eviction from the show site.

PLEASE make this a pleasant show for everyone involved.

NO DOGS may be left in the grooming building overnight.
